Homes in Costa Rica under $100K

Under $100,000 in Costa Rica is real, mostly inland. Small homes in Atenas, Grecia, and Naranjo (Central Valley retirement favorites), rural Nicoya Peninsula fixers, and condos in San José's outer neighborhoods (Escazú's cheaper edges, Curridabat). Expect concrete block construction, tile floors, no central AC (Central Valley's 70-80°F climate makes it unnecessary), and often dated kitchens. Costa Rica uses its own currency (colón) but dollars are accepted everywhere. The Pensionado visa requires just $1,000/month pension income and grants residency with duty-free import of household goods.
